My name is Santiago Vides. I am the assistant principal at Jack London Community Day School and Continuation High School. I enjoy working with students and parents to improve student achievement and completion of their high school diploma. I have a total of fourteen years of administrative experience in elementary through high schools levels. Also, I have nine years of classroom teaching experience in grade levels K-12. I have experience serving at-risk students and students with severe to moderate learning disabilities, as well as gifted students. I had the opportunity to serve in small schools of 100 students enrolled, as well as schools as large as 4,200 students enrolled. I have experience in budgets, school operations, personnel, Title I, and ELL Programs.

As an educator and a teacher, I believe that all students will learn if a safe and nurturing environment is provided for them at school. I am an instructional leader with a desire to collaborate, committed to fostering a positive environment and a community of learners. I am an effective bilingual communicator (English and Spanish), and value the individuality of all stakeholders.

As your new assistant principal, I look forward being supportive of established programs designed to improve student achievement and safety. I also look forward using all resources to improve the school educational programs. I am a team player and enjoy working in collaboration with school staff, parents, community members, and district administrators. I look forward to the opportunity to serve the Jack London students and community.
